Question on Minor varieties in Australia

by Tiffany Merkel
(Malvern, SA)

I am a student working on a project on Minor red varietals that have less than 500Ha planted in Australia. I haven't been able to find a list of these minor reds although I found harvest information in tonnes.
I would appreciate any suggestions for how to find the planting area of red varietals.

Hi Tiffany,

Sorry, I just came across this question. I suppose my answer is too late, and I don't have a good one anyway.

Virtually all of the red wines mentioned in vinodiversity are less than 500HA The exception is Grenache.
Kym Anderson at University of Adelaide has a long term project on areas planted to various wine varieites. he may be able to help.

Sorry for the VERY tardy answer. (Hope you project went well)
