Is there any Agiorgitiko grown In Australia?

by Damian

Damian Asks: Agiorgitiko is a Greek grape variety producing a beautiful red wine. I have seen examples in Australia, but these are all imported wines made in Greece.

Do you know if any is grown in Australia, if so, where? Is it made into wine as either a straight varietal or as a blend and is it available to buy?
Looking forward to finding out more.

Darby replies:

I don't know of any Damian. This is a little surprising given the number of Aussies with Greek heritage.

The name of the variety means St George, which is also an alternative name.
