Let's face it! Book launches and signings can be boring.
But hold on! We've decided to make this one much more interesting and attractive!
We've assembled a wonderful range of wines, all made from unusual varieties.
And we've arranged a superb 14-piece canapes menu at one of Sydney's best restaurants.
Of course you can buy the book as well, signed by the author before your very eyes.
Australian wine lovers are now experiencing many new and exciting wines from much wider range of wine varieties. Although we still love wine from our our traditional varieties there has been an invasion of new grapes, from Spain, Portugal, Italy the lesser known regions of France and even further afield.
Winemakers are now making some excellent wines from previously unknown (at least in Australia) vines, as well as doing some interesting things with varieties that have spend some years in th doldrums.
Italian varieties like Pinot gris and Sangiovese are no longer surprising, but there are many more. Consumer information about these wines is scarce, but now a new book is available to fill the gap.
Vinodiversity as a web site and as a book is all about wines from unusual grape varieties, in the book over 130 new and interesting varieties are described, along with the wineries and regions that are producing them.
Vinodiversity the book will be launched at a special wine tasting reception at the Drawing Room in the Observatory Hotel, Sydney on Thursday 26 August 2010
An exciting line up of Australian wines made from alternative varieties will be served
The Observatory Hotel is one of Sydney's best. You can expect great food, great service in beautiful surroundings.
Darby will also be signing and selling his new book Vinodiversity the Book: New Grape Varieties and Wines in Australia
