Value Wine Reviews Weekly!

Recently I was able to taste a variety of Aussie rieslings with Josh Raynolds who writes for IWC with Steven Tanzer. He really gave me quite an education of the things I DID NOT KNOW about this wonderful grape.

I tasted Grosset, Frankland Estates, Pikes, Mount Horrocks and Rocky Gully. All were delicious, with distinctly different styles. I am hooked!

I have not had a chance to try an aged Riesling. I am going to New York in September for a semi annual Aussie wine expo. I am staying with Josh who has promised to dig deep in his cellar for some older rieslings to expand my palate.

Loving wine is such a wonderfully rewarding hobby, and more importantly.....HUMBLING hobby. It seems the more you learn, the more you understand how little you truly know. I'll toast you this evening for your wise and timely comments. I look forward to reading your columns in Vinodiversity, and to writing some more about Aussie Riesling in my WineGent Blog.
