Premier Wine Training in Dublin is running two WSET Certified Wine Courses.



  • WSET Level 2 Certificate in Wines & Spirits (formerly known as Intermediate Certificate)


  • WSET Level 3 Certificate in Wines & Spirits (formerly known as Advanced Certificate)



WSET Level 2 Certificate




The principal lecturer is Maureen O'Hara, who has 20 years experience working in the wine trade in Ireland, including 15 teaching wine. Maureen is a WSET Diploma graduate, a WSET Certified Educator, and is a FETAC-certified trainer.

This is an 9 week course, 2 hours (evening) each week. The course is an ideal entry level course for professionals employed full-time in the wine industry, and is suited to enthusiasts seeking a solid knowledge of wine with a professional qualification recognised world wide. The qualification is based on passing a multiple choice exam. It is accredited at NFQ Level 4.

Holders of this qualification will be able to interpret the labels of the major wines and spirits of the world and give basic guidance on appropriate selection and service, as well as understand the principles of wine tasting and evaluation.

The venue is the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel on Golden Lane, Dublin city centre, which is easily accessed by bus, Luas, DART.
WSET Level 2 Certificate Course costs: €425 including full study pack, exam fee and a set of tasting glasses.

The next Level 2 course starts September 2012.

WSET Level 3 Certificate



Again the principal lecturer is Maureen O'Hara.

This is a 11 week course, 3 hours (evening) each week. The course is aimed at people who want to build on an already good basic wine knowledge. Having Level 2 (or equivalent level of knowledge) is highly recommended.

It is ideal for professionals employed full-time in the wine industry, and is suited to enthusiasts seeking a detailed knowledge of wine with a professional qualification recognised world wide. The qualification is based on passing a written exam (multiple choice + written papers) and a tasting exam. It is accredited at NFQ Level 5 in Ireland.

Holders of this qualification will be able to describe the characteristics of the principal wines and spirits of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style, quality and value. They will be in a position to advise management, to answer customer queries authoritatively, and to make informed selections of wines and spirits in a variety of situations.

The venue is the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel on Golden Lane, Dublin city centre, convenient to transport by bus, Luas and DART.
WSET Level 3 Certificate Course costs: €795 including full study pack, exam fee.

The next level 3 course starts September 2012.
